Just found out I'm tapping into someone's
wireless network so taking advantage of a
few moments online.
Well, we're almost on the road. Headed from
Laramie to Cheyenne yesterday and my
wonderful, loving husband forgot he had
just installed a brand new bike rack onto
the roof rack of my '97 Toyota 4Runner
He started to drive under the wooden
awning in front of the hotel - you know,
the ones that say "Max Height 8 Feet."
Well, sans bike he could have cleared it.
But the bike hit the awning and the roof
rack broke off. Bike is fine. We spent the
first day of our road trip to Anchorage
searching for compatible roof rack but
finally went back to the bike store to
return the recently purchased bike rack
that attaches to roof racks and bought
a new bike rack with landings, towers
and cross bars.
Handsome hubby installed it all himself,
in the rain, all the while thrilled that we
now have a "much better bike rack"
than before. Ah, how I love a positive
mental attitude. Photos pending!
So we'll be about 6 hours late in terms
of meeting our first day's driving goals.
But we have a great bike rack!
The other glitch was when I accidentally
deleted the dozen or so digital photos of
our Bon Voyage party yesterday. I cringed
and almost cried when I realized my error.
Especially because there was a classic
photo of me with my best girlfriends
Michell and Jo - posing as Charlie's Angels!
No photos pending. Bummer.
Who knows when I'll have Internet service
on our trip but when I have it, I'll be posting
photos and tales of our travels.
From Wyoming to Alaska or BUST. Well,
not bust - we've already done that!
