Listening to NPR in the car, and Talk of the Nation,
one of my favorite shows, was on. I heard them announce
Caitlin Kelly who wrote the new book
"Blown Away: American Women and Guns." Caitlin had
interviewed me for the book and included my story
about being held up at gunpoint (NYC, 1994) and buying
my gun (Sig Sauer 9mm) in one of the chapters.
I hurried home, turned on the radio and proceeded to
speed dial TOTN. And lo and behold, I got through!
I told them I was one of the women featured in the
book and they put me on the air right then. Who knows
what the heck I said - I'm afraid to listen to it - but
Caitlin emailed me the next day and seemed pleased
about it.
