Why does McDonald's new campaign using "Mom's Quality Correspondents" i.e. "Mom bloggers" to blog about McDonald's food as "healthy eating" scare the shit out of me?
From their intros:
"McDonald's is a favorite eatery - ensuring my family has healthy choices that we can all share is paramount to fostering a healthy nutritional future."
Yeah, fast food restaurants are the answer to a healthy nutritional future.
"Many times we are on the road and the kids are hungry so I'll happily stop at McDonald's."
Yeah, when my kid is hungry, I stop at the grocery store and for a lot less, pick up some fresh organic fruit.
They sound like Stepford Moms, programmed to tout the healthfulness of the same fast food chain that used to Supersize us until Morgan Spurlock exposed the truth about their evil ways.
Am I being too judgmental? Am I the only one frightened by a multimillion dollar campaign infiltrating the blogosphere with misinformation couched as down-home, real-Mom advice?
