GOP spends $150,000 for Palin's wardrobe - John McCain News- msnbc.com.
People seem to be so surprised about the $150K spent on Sarah Palin for her campaign - not just on pricey clothing to suit every possible weather change in the universe but also hair coloring, styling, facials, manicures and probably even pedicures.
What most people down in the Lower 48 don't know is that this is not unusual frivolous spending by or for Palin.
Right now, she is again under scrutiny up here in Alaska for:
1. Charging the State of Alaska for per diems to her that are usually paid to the Governor of Alaska when they have to leave their homes and are staying in the state capital - Juneau - on government business. The per diem is meant to offset any additional expenses while she is away from her home base.
But Palin does not stay in Juneau at the governor's abode. She stays in her own home in Wasilla and flies into Juneau. So she is charging the state for per diem while staying in the comfort of her own home - a total of $17,000.
2. Charging the State of Alaska for flights for her children to join her at events. She had paperwork for the language on flight reimbursements to allow "official business travel" for her children claiming that wherever they go, they are representing the State of Alaska and that they are invited to these events by the planners.
Many of the event planners have been shocked to see her with her kids in tow. They were not invited. They certainly weren't turned away, however, Palin is trying to claim that her kids are on "official state business" when she totes them around everywhere whether they are needed or not.
More on State Funded Kid's Travel...
I do think that as a mom, it is great that she can bring her kids along. But that is a personal expense, not a business expense. I bring my baby girl on some business trips, but her flight and meals come out of my pocket. That's the right way to do these things, don't you think?
So spending the taxpayers' money in frivolous ways is nothing new to Sarah Palin.
Great blog and information, I agree with you on your facebook rant. I often say the same thing about people that I've added to my friend list "“Who the heck is this person?”" lol but your're right, it's always good to keep people for networking purposes

AMEN, I agree 100% if the kids aren't invited to 'such events' or business meetings and trips, they should be paid out of Palins pocket...after all,, she does have money, isn't that correct?
